Studio is Shotstack's online video editor used to design and create video templates that can be used to generate videos
using the Edit API.

The Studio allows you to visually design videos, as well as images, without having to write any code or JSON. The Studio
works like a traditional desktop video editor with a timeline, tracks and clips. It is a browser based video editor that
is compatible with Shotstack features including [merge fields](../architecting-an-application/merging-data.md).

The Studio video editor can be used to create and save templates that can be used to generate videos using the
[template ID and merge fields](../architecting-an-application/templates.md) or to generate the JSON that you can use
directly in your application.
