Google Drive Integration

Save rendered videos and images to folders in your Google Drive.

How it works

  • Step 1

    Connect your Google account

    Open Integrations in your dashboard, choose Google Drive and sign in with Google. Shotstack only has access to the files it creates.

  • Step 2

    Copy the folder ID

    Open the Drive folder and copy the ID from the end of its URL, after /folders/.

  • Step 3

    Add the destination

    Set the google-drive destination in the render output with the folder ID. The folder ID is required.

One parameter in your render

Add destinations to the output of a render. With a filename of video, an mp4 render is saved as video.mp4.

{
  "output": {
    "format": "mp4",
    "destinations": [{
      "provider": "google-drive",
      "options": {
        "folderId": "2t-eTY12LO8tzQLAwMug-fIrK_7AQBI6B",
        "filename": "video"
      }
    }]
  }
}

What you can do with Google Drive

  • Several folders at once

    List more than one Google Drive destination to save the same video to different folders, such as one per client.

  • Only your Drive

    Add the Shotstack destination with "exclude": true and the video goes to Drive without being hosted by Shotstack.

  • Share from Drive

    Finished videos sit in your folders, so Drive sharing works on them like any other file.

Questions

What can Shotstack see in my Google Drive?
Only the files Shotstack creates. Connecting your account lets Shotstack upload files to Drive on your behalf.
Where do I find the folder ID?
In the folder's URL. For https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/2t-eTY12LO8tzQLAwMug-fIrK_7AQBI6B, the ID is the part after /folders/.
