Google Cloud Storage Integration

Send rendered videos and images straight to your own Google Cloud Storage bucket.

How it works

  • Step 1

    Create a bucket

    Create a Cloud Storage bucket in your Google Cloud account if you do not have one.

  • Step 2

    Add credentials in your dashboard

    Open Integrations, choose Google Cloud Storage and enter your credentials. Sandbox and production can use different ones.

  • Step 3

    Add the destination

    Set the google-cloud-storage destination in the render output, or at the root of an ingest request, with your bucket.

One parameter in your render

Add destinations to the output of a render. Without a filename, the file is named after the render ID plus its extension.

{
  "output": {
    "format": "mp4",
    "destinations": [{
      "provider": "google-cloud-storage",
      "options": {
        "bucket": "my-bucket",
        "prefix": "my-renders",
        "filename": "video"
      }
    }]
  }
}

What you can do with Google Cloud Storage

  • Several buckets at once

    List more than one destination to send the same file to a second bucket, such as a backup with its own prefix.

  • Only your bucket

    Add the Shotstack destination with "exclude": true and the file goes to Cloud Storage without being hosted by Shotstack.

  • Ingested files too

    Source files and renditions from the Ingest API use the same destination.

Questions

What is the uploaded file called?
By default, the render ID, source ID or rendition ID plus the file extension. Set filename and prefix to choose your own name and folder.
